Deter AI is an automated deterrence system for broadacre cropping. On-device vision identifies the animal, a matched deterrent plays, the response changes if it lingers, and a companion app records the event by location.

01 Identify the animal
On-device computer vision detects and classifies the animal in real time, including kangaroos, feral pigs, foxes and birds. Processing runs on the device, so there is no need to check footage by hand.

02 Trigger a matched deterrent
The unit plays a deterrent matched to that species, rather than generic noise. The aim is biologically meaningful cues such as predator vocalisations or natural alarm signals, which research suggests animals are slower to ignore than static ultrasonic or scent-based devices.

03 Adapt if the animal stays
If an animal lingers longer than expected, a sign it is becoming used to the current deterrent, the system switches to a different response automatically. That targets habituation, the main reason most deterrent products lose effect after repeated use.

04 Alert from the app
A companion app notifies the grower when a detection and deterrent event occurs, with a history log by location. Units can be monitored without physically checking paddocks.
What growers get

Why matching and changing the response matters
Different animals respond to different cues. Generic noise and static ultrasonic or scent devices often lose effect once animals get used to them. Matching the deterrent to the species, then changing it if an animal lingers, is how the system targets habituation.
Placement on farm
Units are intended for paddock margins that take damage first: crop edges against timber or scrub, approaches to water, and known pig or kangaroo pathways. One unit covers a high-pressure strip. Additional units can be added where more edges are losing grain. Full-paddock camera coverage is not required.
Being developed with grain growers
